Workshop 1 Final Year Project (FYP) General Briefing & Continue on Project Progress from FYP2 


OBJECTIVES:

  • 1st Briefing about Final Year Project 1 and 2 by Sir Shaiful Osman.
  • To gain knowledge about the requirement needed in FYP2.
  • To conduct a research findings data about aquaponic system from previous works reviewed.

CONTENTS:

1. Workshop 1 Final Year Project (FYP) General Briefing:

In the 2nd week, the general briefing was conducted on Microsoft Teams that involved the FYP Diploma/FYP1/FYP2/IFYP students and the attendance is compulsory. The briefing was conducted by Sir Shaiful Osman.

Time: 2:30 PM - 4:30 PM
Venue: Online Microsoft Teams

In this briefing, the Final Year Project (FYP) committees have briefed us about:

  1. FYP/IFYP Rules and Regulations
  2. Activities Throughout Semester
  3.  The students should be register the project title by the week 5.
  4. Assessment that need to covered for FYP1 such as Report (Logbook/Blog), Presentations, and Project Proposal.
All final year project section representative were introduced such as Mr.Azmi from Electrical Technology Section, Mr. Shah Rizaili from Medical Eng.Technology Section, Dr.Punithavathi from Telecom Technology Section, Madam Azliza from Electronic Engineering Section and Mr. Ahmad Syukri from Electrical Eng.Section.

2. Doing more research and gather all the information for the idea and inspirational in my  aquaponic project.

For the bio tank filter and solid waste tank filter, I will used the paint bins as a filtering tool. So from the fish tank, the waste water will pump through the solid waste tanks filter. The tanks with an inner cylinder will filters out solid waste types. It filters out the debris by slowing down the water which causes the heavier particles to descend to the bottom of the container. Then the pipe outlet will flow the water through the bio tank filter. The tank contains K1 bio media filter that functionally to trap the suspended solids and promote the growth of beneficial bacteria. The bio tank filter is ensures the plant to access the nitrates that need to grow while cleaning the water for fish. The bacteria will attach to the surface of the biofilter medium. Once established, it will convert the ammonia and nitrites into nitrates.

  Poster Approval Checking & Final Setup on Project Devices  OBJECTIVES To do a final review of the poster before it is printed for the presentation session. Do the troubleshoot and gather the measured data on the project devices. CONTENTS 1.  Final checking of the poster banner with Academic Supervisor (ASV). Before attend the demonstration day at Gemilang Hall on Wednesday 25/5/2022, I went through on final checking with my supervisor, Dr Zaki to get his comments on if there should be additions or improvements.
