Continue on Project Progress from FYP2 


OBJECTIVES

  • To continue the work plan already planned during fyp1
  • To more understanding about the whole systems in aquaponic culture

CONTENTS

1. Continue on project progress that been proposed on FYP1 last semester.

The first week of Final Year Project 2 (FYP2) now begins. So, I need to continue the progress of proposed project from FYP1 that has been left last semester. Throughout of semester break, I have been doing my research studies towards my project to find out the answers and development from the ideas and comments taken from my both assessors during my exhibition of my FYP1.

The project for "The Development Water Quality Maintenance in Aquaponics" now officially begins.


2. Doing more research and gather all the information for the idea and inspirational in my  aquaponic project.

    I sought inspiration and received the idea to build this aquaponic system from watching a video on YouTube and previous work from the website. It really helped me in planning to implement this project of mine. 
    So I decided to apply the grow bed system for my aquaponic project by using the gutter. For me by using the gutter as a medium grow bed, it more efficient than using the PVC pipe in terms of maintenance and able for me to doing daily observation of the plant growth and the water rate that flowing in the gutter grow bed.



In

Because the aquaponic system is a plant medium that does not use soil. I will used the Leca ball as the planting medium for my plants. By using leca ball, I able to reduce some of the problems and also benefit my plants. For example, The risk of getting pests are reduced. The leca ball is not live growing medium while soil is organic matter which nutrients and alive. The soil contained nutrients for insects. Insects usually carry and cause diseases towards my plants. Then, by using the leca ball. It more easy for me to checking in the plants. This also opportunity to have a look at how the roots of the plants are doing.


SUMMARY

  • The results of the work will be more organized and planned if there is a work plan from the beginning
  • Manage to adding knowledge on how the aquaponic system works on and I more understanding towards the project research.

  Poster Approval Checking & Final Setup on Project Devices  OBJECTIVES To do a final review of the poster before it is printed for the presentation session. Do the troubleshoot and gather the measured data on the project devices. CONTENTS 1.  Final checking of the poster banner with Academic Supervisor (ASV). Before attend the demonstration day at Gemilang Hall on Wednesday 25/5/2022, I went through on final checking with my supervisor, Dr Zaki to get his comments on if there should be additions or improvements. He give comments that the poster was great but need little bit changed in terms of sentence structure and change the position of table or figure labelling.    2.  Perform the final setup of the circuit to face the demonstration day Before facing the demonstration day on Wednesday in the Gemilang hall, all the preparations in terms of hardware need to be done by conducting an final inspection of the hardware or components.   ...
